Compassionate Mind Therapy (CMT)
Compassionate Mind Therapy can be used by people who want to know more about how compassion can help with dealing with difficult emotions and a tendency to be self-critical. Compassion training has been around for a long time, especially in the Buddhist traditions. It is better to try to understand our minds and see if we can cultivate them so that our unpleasant emotions are easier to regulate, and our positive/pleasant emotions are easier to generate. A first step on this journey is to understand why our emotions can be so difficult.
